The JEANNEAU 51 is a new boat that was designed around four main themes: fantastic spaces, an innovative layout below deck, autonomy and a style that fits in with the designs associated with other craft within the highly respected JEANNEAU YACHTS range.
Creating lifestyle options
As a result of the focus on these core themes, the JEANNEAU 51 provides for a great lifestyle on deck. Plenty of space has been provided for owners and guests. So, they can enjoy relaxing in the sun, with areas offering extensive opportunities for entertaining and dining. Below deck, a choice of multiple layouts is available, enabling flexibility in the number of cabins and storage rooms that are present on the vessel. These configuration options enable the boat to reflect the requirements of the owners and their guests.
Priority has also been given to ensuring that it’s possible to take all necessary equipment on board, with extensive storage options. Despite the size of the vessel, styling has played an important role and it fits neatly into the overall range.
Extending aft space
The patented aft terrace system can be controlled either on deck or by making use of an innovative handheld remote control. This extends the available space, creating an additional lounge area. An attached swimming ladder offers direct access into the sea from the rear of the boat.
The primary helm station
At the heart of the cockpit is the main cockpit table. From a safety perspective, it allows the life raft to be stowed within a bespoke compartment. Six people can comfortably sit around the table, taking advantage of the space that is offered by the folding extensions. An optional fridge is ideal for providing easy access to cold drinks, while nearby armchairs have built-in cup holders.
With the spray hood erected, the armchair seating offers a protected area, where there are also great views from the boat and a presence alongside other guests.
Sailing plan flexibility
The JEANNEAU 51 was specifically developed to meet the needs of sailing couples, allowing them to select sail plans to meet their needs. It’s possible, for example, to replace the jib for a self-tacking jib. There are also options available for use in light winds.
Before deck, some wonderful lounging space is made available, with the associated sun mattresses. In addition, the large locker provides ample storage space for offshore gear, including sails and dinghies. Holders enable a second anchor to be held in place, if required.
The stylish interior
Below deck, there is a very contemporary feel, making use of some beautiful natural oak wood finishes. The same details that have won praise throughout the range are in evidence, including the leather finishes and the wonderfully styled counter tops.
The U-shaped settee offers a relaxing and welcoming area within the interior of the boat, while the forward facing navigation station combines practicality with the latest navigation aids. A galley, also designed in a U-shape, is perfect for those intending on spending a lot of time on board. The seating area offers real comfort, enabling couples and their guests to sit back and relax.
The galley also boasts extensive storage options, together with a large fridge freezer, sinks and three burner stove. Additional features include a built-in dustpan, making it that bit easier to maintain the galley area.
Choosing layout options
At rear, a wealth of options are offered on the JEANNEAU 51, enabling a variety of layouts. It’s possible, for example, to opt for a fully equipped guest room. Alternative layouts provide for increased storage space, while there is also the opportunity to choose an integral skipper cabin.
The aft cabin can also be reconfigured in a variety of ways, allowing a utility room to be created, enabling ample space to be made available for a washer dryer, refrigerators, or for the provision of extra hanging lockers.
Charts and navigation
Seating six people comfortably and constructed using stainless steel legs, the table is provided in an area of the craft where it’s possible to feel that you are at the very heart of the boat. An optional extra is a table with removable legs, which can be stored in dedicated storage areas. With the legs removed, the space can be used for sleeping or as a television viewing area.
The main cabin
The owner’s cabin meanwhile simply encompasses all of the luxurious features that might be expected. An enormous amount of space has been carved out, as demonstrated by the impressive ceiling height. The queen size double berth, complete with side tables, bedside lamps and reading lamps, offer all of the home comforts.
With huge storage areas, huge port holes and comfortable seating at either side of the cabin, this is the perfect space in which to spend time. The associated en suite head has a separate shower and can also be tailored to include electric toilets. A large sink and flooring matching the rest of that found in the vessel complete the impressive en suite space.
The VIP cabin
The VIP cabin also boasts plenty of storage, bedside lighting and port holes, enabling exterior views. Guests will enjoy making use of their own, dedicated shower.
The JEANNEAU 51 is a fully equipped boat that represents a continuation of the impressive JEANNEAU range. Building on the four key design objectives, it’s a vessel that is well suited to the needs of couples and their guests.
